EFR Says Goodbye to Medical Director

Members of Estero Fire Rescue gathered for Emergency Medical Services Appreciation Week and to honor Dr. Michelle Nathan.  Dr. Nathan joined the team at Estero Fire Rescue approximately four years ago as Medical Director for the district.  At the end of June, Dr. Nathan will be leaving the area to join family out of the state.

 

As the Medical Director, Dr. Nathan provides guidance, leadership, and quality assurance for the EMT’s and paramedics of Estero Fire Rescue.  As a board-certified physician in emergency medicine, Dr. Nathan is responsible for the assistance in creating protocols for treatment of patients as well as teaching, lecturing and training of personnel.
 
Members of Estero Fire Rescue presented Dr. Nathan with a signed shadow box with all members’ signatures and a helmet ID shield inscribed ‘Estero Fire Rescue – Medical Director’.  “I am really, really proud to have been the medical director of such a great group” said Nathan, “and I am really honored that you guys have done this.”
