Annual Fight For Air Climb

What a weekend it was in downtown Ft Myers!  The 2nd Annual Fight For Air Climb took place downtown at Ft Myers High Point Condos on Saturday April 30th. Sponsored by the American Lung Association, the Fight for Air Climb is a fundraiser to bring much needed money and recognition on lung disease and their treatments.

Teams raced the 30 floors of the condominium competing for the best time.  The event was open to anyone but firefighters were invited to participate in the full gear climb.  Ten teams competed in the Firefighter division.  Representing Estero Fire Rescue was the team of Chuck Collins, Greg Escarra, Jerry Krohnfeldt and Eliel Blanco.

Together they took top honors with a team time of 4:46, followed by Ft Myers Fire Department with 5:14.  Individually, Jerry Krohnfeldt took first place with a time of 4:06 and Greg Escarra took second place with a time of 4:14.  Congratulations on a great fundraiser and a fantastic job well done.
