EFR Gives the Shirts off their Backs

Estero firefighters are giving the shirts off their backs ~ literally!  The 6th Annual St. Patrick’s Day T-Shirt Fundraiser from Estero Fire Rescue kicks off Tuesday, March 15th with Estero Firefighters wearing a different uniform.  For the next three days, EFR Firefighters will be wearing specially designed T-shirts on duty with all proceeds going to firefighter charities.  Firefighters from across the county are being asked to join Estero Fire Rescue. 
 
Lt. Grant Schwalbe and Firefighter Jason Richards of Estero Fire Rescue began the annual St. Patrick’s Day T-shirt fund raiser event in 2005 and since has donated annually to local firefighter families in need, raising over $26,000.  This year’s fund raiser goes to the Terry Farrell Fund.  The fund was established in memory of Terry Farrell, a decorated member of the New York Fire Department who perished on September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center Attack.  The fund assists firefighters and their families with educational, medical and equipment needs.
