The Role of Prevention
at Estero Fire Rescue
Employees
of Estero Fire Rescue responsible for community risk management and fire
prevention are known as the Life Safety Squad. Life Safety Squad members review plans for all
new construction in the District, except for one and two-family dwellings,
conduct new construction inspections and routine inspections to insure fire
protection an? life safety is maintained in existing buildings, provide fire and
life safety education programs, fire and arson investigation, public information
and code consulting services. Plan review and new construction inspection costs
are offset by fees charged for these services. A portion of the overall fire
department operating budget funds all other services.
