Heartsaver CPR Class
Estero Fire Rescue is a certified Basic Life Support (BLS) Community Training Center for the American Heart Association (AHA). Courses in cardiopulmonary resuscitation are taught to the community on selected Saturday mornings or private classes can be arranged.
Students
are taught by certified AHA instructors on how the EMS system works and to
recognize stroke, angina, heart attack and cardiac arrest. Techniques for
CPR for adults, children and infants along with treatment of choking victims
are also taught.
Students receive a two-year CPR card from the American Heart Association. A fee of $50 per person is required to cover the cost of the instructor, student manual and CD.
Businesses and organizations are encouraged to schedule classes for
their staff and employees, especially those that have regular contact
with the public.
For more information or to schedule a class, contact EFR's Public Relations Manager Susan Lindenmuth.
Estero Fire Rescue also provides AED, Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support and First Aid classes.
The American Heart
Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS and
PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of
these materials in an educational course does not represent course
sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a
course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not
represent income to the Association.
